Area Code 248
Designs and Their Codes Algebraic coding theory has in recent years been increasingly applied to the study of combinatorial designs. This book gives an account of many of those applications, together with a fairly thorough general introduction to both design theory and coding theory, developing the relationship between the two areas. The first half of the book contains general background material in design theory, including symmetric designs and designs from affine and projective geometries, and in coding theory, including coverage of most of the important classes of linear codes. In particular the authors provide a new treatment of the Reed-Muller and generalized Reed-Muller codes. The last three chapters treat the applications of coding theory to some important classes of designs, namely finite planes, Hadamard designs and Steiner systems, in particular the Witt systems. The book is aimed at mathematicians working in either coding theory or combinatorics - or related areas of algebra. The book is, however, also designed to be used by non-specialists and can be used by those graduate students or computer scientists who may be working in these areas.
Error Control Coding by Shu Lin, A reorganized and comprehensive major revision of a classic book, this edition provides a bridge between introductory digital communications and more advanced treatment of information theory. Completely updated to cover the latest developments, it presents state-of-the-art error control techniques. Coverage of the fundamentals of coding and the applications of codes to the design of real error control systems. Contains the most recent developments of coded modulation, trellises for codes, soft-decision decoding algorithms, turbo coding for reliable data transmission and other areas. There are two new chapters on Reed-Solomon codes & concatenated coding schemes. Also contains hundreds of new and revised examples; and more than 200 illustrations of code structures, encoding and decoding circuits and error performance of many important codes and error control coding systems. Appropriate for those with minimum mathematical background as a comprehensive reference for coding theory.
Area code 305 - Area code 305 was the default area code in the state of Florida, and still currently serves all of Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys, including Miami and Key West. The area code is also overlaid by area code 786, but only in Miami-Dade County and not in the Keys portion of Monroe County; the mainland portion of Monroe County is served by area code 239. Area code 450 - Area code 450 is a telephone area code in the Canadian province of Quebec, encompassing the suburban area around Montreal. Within Quebec, the 450 area code is surrounded entirely by area code 819. Area code 507 - Area code 507 is the telephone numbering plan code for the southern 1/5th of Minnesota, including cities such as Rochester, Mankato, and Austin. It was the third area code created for use in the state in 1954, following the original Area code 218 and Area code 612. Area code 604/778 - Area code 604 is the telephone area code in British Columbia, Canada, encompassing the Lower Mainland region around Vancouver. Formerly the area code for the whole province, in 1997 the region was split — as the province's major metropolitan area, Vancouver maintained 604 while the rest of the province was moved to the new area code 250.
